Best kept secret in WeHo.I went Sunday after church and was the only person. The food was increadible. On the table they have to nibble Middle Eastern Olives marinated in oil and turnip slices that have been marinated in vinegar and beet juice. The entree I selected was the 1/2 a pannini and salad. The pannini was chicken pesto and was in the press the perfect amount of time. These other places either over or under press, and this was a pefect toast to it. The salad was Lettuce, radishes, cucumbers, and fried pita bread used like croutons. That was perfect served with a bed of the best french fries. I had to splurge for desert, the Pharoa Sweet Tooth and today that was an almond moouse that was rich and creamy and a perfect mixture of ground pastacio nuts with honey poured over the top. This was heaven. I spoke to the waiter who said they are always dead at lunch but at night they are packed.

Let me start off by saying that my best friend has a strange and curious attraction to middle eastern chicks. I believe the sentence "dude, they have perfectly brown little mommy nipples" was used in his explanation as to why. So it goes with out saying that as soon as we found Amoon Ra, he wanted to be first in line. Now, me... I don't know the first thing about "brown little mommy nipples". All I wanted to know is if Amoon Ra had: A) Great vibe B) Great food C) Great Hookah D) great service.THE VIBE: absolutely chill! from the art work on the walls and the table arrangements, to the belly dancers. I mean, this place knows how to have a great time. You feel like you are in an alternate universe where the only thing that matters at this moment is the friends you're with and the kabob in front of you. Which brings me to...THE FOOD: Phenomenal. Try the chicken wrap for lunch and the grilled combo platter for dinner. the kabob's are awesome, surrounded by veggies and rice. Very healthy stuff and the chef is awesome.THE HOOKAH: Great flavor... enough said!THE SERVICE: the service here is tops! I've rarely been to a place where I can sit and watch all the waiters AND the owner continuously make everyone feel like "a regular". They go out of their way to embrace everyone. Basically, I agree with another review on this from Scott C. "BEST KEPT SECRET IN WEHO"...

Amoon Ra Restaurant and Cafe is a new Mediterranean spot that not a lot of people know about. It is a great place to unwind with your friends, smoke some hookah on their enclosed patio, drink tea and grab a delicious meal as well.Amoon Ra has a pretty long Happy Hour, 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on Mondays through Fridays when hookahs are $9.95 and wine and beer is $3.95/per glass.Personal Favorites: Tawook (Chicken Kebab) entree which is regular priced but affordable - $14.00 and the plate is big enough to share for 2 people. It is super moist and comes with a delicious garlic paste. Also, their Hummos is yummy. If you love dining deals, check out my profile for the website's name.

I love me some middle eastern food but when I arrived 8 pm on a Saturday night and found the place deader than an AARP rally I was initially a wee bit apprehensive. One delicious bite of their heavenly hoomos and my fears were erased. My party ordered a healthy slice of the appetizer menu and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The fava bean falafel was particularly well fried and scrumptious. Didn't get a chance to sample the hooka that night but I'm sure we''ll be back....

Ok. This is probably the trickiest review I have written yet. This place gets 1 star for being advertised as a middle eastern restaurant, but 3 1/2 stars for being a decent Italian restaurant.Confused? So was I. There's almost nothing middle eastern on this menu except hummus and shish kabobs. Everything else is classic Italian. You would think with all the Egyptian artwork everywhere that they would serve Egyptian food. SORRY, but NO. You can look for things like Chicken Marsala, Lasagna, Creme Brulee, the list goes on...The Italian food I had was pretty decent. The hookah is about 16$ I think which is ridiculous. The guy who who carries the coal around and sets up the hookahs is out of his mind. He also almost set a few women's hair on fire from burning embers while he walked behind them letting burning coal fly up into their hair. He was also creepy and pretty much did the opposite of anything you told him to do. "Leave the coals, they're fine the way they are." Next thing you know he's throwing them out and disassembling your hookah. Huh??The outdoor seating is nice but the interior could use a lot of work. It's all tile floors and not very inviting. If you're looking for Egyptian food and some good hookah, I would go somewhere else. If you're looking for some Italian food and a pyromaniac, this is your home!

A friend had a family get-together here for dinner one evening. I'd driven past many times before, and was happy for the excuse to give it a try.First of all, parking was a nightmare. I ended up parking blocks away. Maybe there was some parking accommodation for customers, but if so then it was not evident to me.Judging from outside, I expected a pretty cool interior. Not so much. There were a few nice touches, but overall it's very bare inside. There are speakers and a TV mounted to the walls. Bizarre dance music was playing so loudly that I had to shout into my friends' ears to make myself heard. I hate that, especially in restaurants. It's not a club, and I'm not there to listen to a band; I'm at a restaurant to have a conversation over dinner. We ordered vegetarian platters. They took forever, much longer than everyone else's food, and they brought the wrong thing. After the initial drink, no one ever checked to see if we wanted more. The food was pretty dry overall, quite forgettable. Now as I mentioned, this was a family gathering. We were celebrating one little girl's birthday. OK, maybe the parents picked the wrong venue, but they had set things up with the management in advance, so they knew it was a children's party. So guess what happens next? Belly-dancing floor show. And a hot one. I'm no prude, believe me, and I would've had a blast -- had it not been a children's party dominating the restaurant! The kids were six and seven! I had to drag my daughter away to the bar, to pay the check and get out of there. And that was my final bad experience, as it must've taken almost ten minutes to get someone to take my credit card and swipe it.So I had a pretty lousy experience here. Would I recommend Amoon Ra? I'm afraid I can't. There are much better choices out there. It's a big city.

Very mellow, curiously empty hookah cafe. I haven't had the food, but the shisha flavors are excellent, and the location is incredible. Slow service, but this the type of place where you want to just kick back and enjoy yourself.

Passed by last night. There was a notice on the door that basically says the renters just bounced and haven't paid rent for a long time. Abandoned. All the furniture is gone. Doesn't look like they'll be back. What the hell? Since I had a bunch of friends over for deeenur prepped by yours truly, we decided to take a stroll…
