This is an interesting place. It was nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly. It was nice and quiet, they were running a few waterfalls that even muffled any sound coming from the cars outside. The atmosphere was top notch, and I appreciated that. The food was really good, the only thing i didn't like was the rice, but then again my roommates said it might have been their favorite part. The Louleh Kebab was delicious, as was the salad and humus. The rice just seemed bland to me, adding humus solved the issue, but I wouldn't plan on getting the rice again. Not for my tastes at least. In conclusion, it was a pleasant experience, and I would go back. But it's not tugging at me to go this instance.

The ambiance was nice. We had the lule beef and lule chicken lunch specials and it wasn't great.  The meat had a weird taste and we've all eaten lule before in various restaurants.  Everything else we had was decent and service was good. However, we will not go back. Try it for yourself. You may like it.These people just can't accept that not everyone will like their food.  They reached out to me and I adjusted my comment to what was fair but still my opinion. Then they update their comment to call me a competitor after I gave another restaurant better ratings (which they totally deserve). This is lame and frustrating and that is why I have reduced them to 1 star because it's unprofessional.  Yelp is a place where we can post our opinion and that is exactly what I did.  If you'd have just asked me to remove my comment, I might have just done that.

I am so absolutely in love with the service at Noho Royal Garden; that I had to return with another review... Sometimes one happens to patron an establishment on a good day and receives quality products and service...apparently, it's like that EVERY day at Noho Royal Garden. The food was once again exquisite and the waitress (whom is the co-owner along with her husband and the mother of our waiter last time); was a real treat and even give me an extra container of the house dressing that I am so obsessed with (and raved about in my last review) to take home. I can not stress how great this place is. The best service, food, and environment EVERY day! I continue to be pleased with this amazingly-run business. Have you ever walked by a resturant multiple times and finally stopped in, smacking yourself for… I particularly liked the ambiance of this restaurant, and will definitely be going back, and the food was excellent. Anyways, the ambiance is pretty... I didn't take too many pictures, but many have posted pictures of this restaurant. I sat on one of the outdoor seats and relaxed. I felt at ease. Nearby there was a waterfall and other decor. I don't think it's over the top, but rather well applied. It's a rather clean and peaceful atmosphere. I went during lunch time, and there weren't many people there. I didn't go inside as I preferred outdoor seating that particular day, but I'm sure in the future I'll check out how it is inside. The server was particularly friendly. I have no complaints about the service, as it was quite responsive and quick. The food took some time to prepare, but excellent meals are not something you can zap in your microwave. As far as the cuisine was quite impressed with the Chicken Luleh... very tasty and delicious. It included the staple dish of rice, a grilled tomato, a pepper and a side salad. For the salad I had the home-made dressing which was quite good. The portion was generous, rather large actually. The only con is the drinks are a tad bit pricey, so I just settled for water. Nonetheless, I'm still impressed and thought the prices were quite reasonable for a majority of the main dishes considering the amount of food that is served. If you want a relaxing place where you want to feast on beef kebab, chicken luleh, or a variety of other dishes this is the place to go. Quite nice considering it's in the busy area of North Hollywood. Quite a break from the bustle of a revitalization zone. And while the service may take longer if it's busy, this may be a good place to take a cute special someone... if you so choose to do so. I know I certainly will. The setting here is really cute and interesting. It's mainly all outdoors with water fountains, colored lighting, and a hookah lounge patio vibe. You have to go inside to appreciate this place...it's quirky and cute. I think it would be a good place for a large group. It was weird because there was no one out seating people, but when she came out of the kitchen...she was a doll. It is definitely a family run place and she served everyone in the place! At times I wondered if she was back there cooking a bit, too! Anyway, I was cold because I didn't realize most of the seating was outside...and she brought me a cozy blanket and gave me a loving squeeze as she placed it on me. So cute! The food was very tasty...she brought us a free sampling of the lentil soup (it was GOOD!) and we had kashke bademjun, which is a dip/spread for pita bread and great on rice. It's made from eggplant mixed with yogurt, I think. Super yummy...but a bit oily as a rule. So, not great diet food...but delish! We had the basic white rice, which is simple. I prefer the more spiced rices usually but didn't want to go overboard. We had the kings special which included the beef shish kabob, chicken shish kabob and the ground meat kabob. Very tasty, though my boyfriend wanted more flavor. I tried to tell him that's what the kaske bademjun is for! Anyway, all in all a good meal, great service with a smile, nice atmosphere and all in NoHo! Woot!Only one complaint...no beer/wine/liquor license yet. But she assured me that it was on it's way! Phew.Noho Royal Garden is an amazing restaurant.  You would never expect this place to be what it looks like inside, from the outside!  Definitely a north hollywood Gem.I don't know why some of the reviews are mixed, but the atmosphere here is very UNIQUE and the food is outstanding.  They don't only serve persian food here either !  As for service, they are VERY friendly and like an earlier reviewer said, they definitely care about their customers.  Pricing is very reasonable.   Please try this place and tell your friends.  This place is sooooo underrated..ARASH ESTEGHLALIANhttp://www.GotArash.com

I miss the bunnies and peacocks. :(I saw that Royal Garden had reopened and wanted to come back. The lady who greeted us said that the new owners didn't have animals. The decor is pretty much the same outside of that and the menu was totally different. No more trio of hummuses. There was pizza on the menu, which i totally wanted to try, but their pizza oven was broken.I went with my second craving, a greek salad. It was absolutely delicious. It showed up on a giant dish, and had TONS of feta on it. The dressing was good. Tomatoes were fresh and the lettuce and springy and bright. The service was faster and better than before. It was really cold out so we got seated next to a heat lamp and the waitress even brought us blankets. I thought that was very touching and considerate, and something not a lot of places in LA would do.

But it's not tugging at me to go this instance.I posted this for the old page for the restaurant, so now that there's a new one, I thought I'd re-post (because they deserve it):When I originally dined at the restaurant over a year ago, I was not very impressed by the food. Also, the fact that there were unhappy, caged birds all around, as well as several free-roaming flightless birds... well, it kinda creeped me out. It was a shame because the restaurant is beautiful. From the outside, it appears like any restaurant, but once you enter, it's like entering an exotic paradise. There is no roof (this is not so apparent from outside unless you look above the roof and see the towering trees). Instead, there is a beautiful garden with canopies covering the tables, allowing natural sunshine or the beauty of the night. Under the new owners, the menu is quite different and the food is far superior to the previous offerings. There was a true sense of authenticity in the food, which is now Persian and Armenian inspired. So it is still Mediterranean, but far more flavorful. And the grape leaves are the best I've ever tasted. Bar-none. Above all, I felt truly welcomed by the new owners whom now run the restaurant. They were delightfully friendly, extremely attentive, and clearly love what they do. The portions were large, the atmosphere was charming... I can't say enough. I will definitely make a habit of visiting this hidden treasure. Also, I was told that they will soon be welcoming live musical performances with a Midlle Eastern theme. I think this will be wonderful. If only there were more places like this! For the record, this place is now called the NoHo Royal Garden. Also, most of the reviews here are…

This place was spectacular!! The ambiance was amazing, tons of outdoor seating and as we left we saw all the indoor as well. The tables were on different levels with little ponds and streams and a fire pit!I had the mix luleh kabob and it was OMG good. The beef was definitely better but both were downright amazing! The basami rice was light and flavored just right and we started it off with some downright amazing sun dried tomato hummus. Overall it made for an amazing evening in a wonderful atmosphere. (and the prices were decent as well)

Ok so I saw the 4.5 on yelp and figured I had to try it. But why do I give it 3? The GOOD:Authentic Persian/Mediterranean food. The grape leaves are very yummy (although a little sour or "pickled tasting"). The pita bread that comes out first with Tsusuki sauce is tasty too. The meats taste sort of like a Persian spiced version of Tandori, very yummy.I also ordered a Persian beef "stew" which i found to be unique, different, and pretty good yet unfamiliar.Hookah bar, and its outdoors! The atmosphere is kinda cool, but a little cheesyThe BAD:The service was pretty brutal. We came on a Saturday night at like 7 and there was 1 man... he seated us, served us, cooked our food, and gave us our check. But when 3 other tables came in, made our dining experience take twice as long as we wanted it to be. No alcoholThe outdoor area is kinda cool, but sort of confused. Its kind of Persian and kind of old Western. I think the restaurant before used to be some old Texas steakhouse because there are all these old western doors, and some of the chairs make it look like a ghost town... in Persia. A little awkward. The lights are cool but kinda cheesy too and it sorta has the feel of a low scale mini-golf place.UPDATE: After posting this, I recieved a message from the owner addressing what I didn't like, and he assured me that the service is usually much better (the night i went there was a family wedding and they were understaffed) and that they were working on getting a beer/wine license. The owner truly cares about his customers and is very passionate about Noho's. That goes a long way in my book!
