It really seems like the only way you'll have fun at this place is if you know the people working here. I have never seen favoritism more prevalent than when I come to Exhale. Coals seems to be non-existent if you're not chummy with the workers which is a total bummer because if you know how to hookah properly then you know you need your coals refreshed every once in a while. I went here the other day and the person in charge of changing your coals was busy refreshing his own friends every once in awhile. Everyone else seemed to be totally neglected. Thankfully, the owner, or at least I think he was the owner, was cool about it and didn't take offense. He gave us half-off which was nice. I think maybe I'll try this place again...maybe...but only because the owner was chill about us practically criticizing his establishment.

*puff puff*What's your flavor of choice? They offer a wide variety of flavored tobaccos. They offer snacks and drinks too. Better to eat dinner first then hit this place.Something different to try. Great place to hang out with friends. Bring a jacket/sweater cuz it's an outdoor patio. Service is iffy so don't expect much! Happy smoking!

This place has definitely schnazzed it up since I came here a year ago for my birthday ending. While I do appreciate their choices of flavors, the pool tables, and the generally cool vibe, they won my heart that fateful night by playing Deltron 3030. How they knew that was what I was really jonesin' for, I'll never know. But I will always love them for it. If you're looking for a late-night chill spot that isn't a bar, this is the place for you.

Honestly, I'm mostly giving it 3 stars because yelp is telling me that 4 stars is "Yay! I'm a fan." and 3 is "A-OK." And honestly, I liked it, but I'm not a fan per se. It's mostly just A-OK.Service is kind of hit or miss, the guy who seated us and changed our coals was kind of a diva. Not mean and not rude--just kind of a diva. HUGE turn-off. He glared at us a few times because we were chilling there for half an hour after we finished our hookah. Even though they weren't even crowded. But I digress.Me and the bf got watermelon tobacco and a rockstar. $12 for the hookah and $3 for the drink. The tobacco was good but the hookah required a bit more upkeep than I would've liked, and it got way too harsh at a few points in time. Yuuuuck. The music was good though--house, hip-hop, and some other genre that my boyfriend said was Armenian. It was pretty cold since it was outdoors, which was fine, but I got sort of annoyed that it was too windy to make O's. Whatever.Honestly, I would go back. I'm not very high maintenance, and tbh it's a nice place to just chill and smoke. There is definitely room for improvement, though.

I hate to sully this cool place but I reviews what I sees.I went here last weekend and got some of the worst service ever. Before i get there let me describe this place through my eyes. At first it's just a small building. Looks more like a smoke shop than a hooka lounge. Once inside there is a pool table on your left and a cashier on the right with hooka's and hooka accessories behind it. Just as I thought a small smoke shop. How is this a lounge? But then you keep walking towards the back of this shop and there is a door that opens up to a pretty nice size patio outside with couches, tables, and chairs. They got this weird itunes visualizations on the wall; coupled with the low lights its kind of eerie but also kind of fun. So anyway. My friends and I (total of 4 of us) sit down to smoke some hooka. However...they sit us all on one couch. These couches fit two comfortably, three if you squish. So one of my buddies grabbed a chair and the only girl had to sit in the middle of myself and my other buddy. Already off to a bad start. Then the hooka I got tasted like crap! I got mango but my friends and I finally discerned it tasted a lot more like AJAX or Comet. yuck. I got a little sick just typing that. So of course I ask for another flavor b/c something seems wrong with this one. The girl working there glares at me and says well fine that'll cost you another 5 dollars. Whoa Whoa Whoa...where in the service industry is it customary to be sarcastic and rude to patrons when you give them bad crap? I mean its not my fault it tastes like comet. I told her we all have been here before and we all know how mango tastes and this is not it. But in her all knowing ways, she told me I must be mistaken. So the madness didn't stop there. We told them we had some friends coming so we would like to move to a larger area. (we already had one folding chair to sit my friend. With 2 more people it would be madness. So they tell us sure and say they are moving us to a corner where there are 2 couches and more room for chairs. Perfect. The group that was sitting there moved and the spot was empty. So we figured it was about time they moved us so we asked and they told us to wait while they cleaned it up. Once it was clean the other waitress or whatever they are called sat a group there. When we told our girl about it she told the other, much larger group, that we wanted that spot so they had to move making us look like the bad guys. So we said we'd wait till our friends got here. Luckily for us we waited b/c our friends took about 30 mins to get there and the group that would have moved was already pissed at us. Finally our friends arrive drunk and just sit on the tables next to the couch b/c there is no where else to sit. The place got crowded so there was no where left for us to move so they couldn't say anything to us. We finally had enough and left. Luckily the price wasn't too bad but still...not enjoyable. The place is cool but if you get a brunette with an attitude, move or ask for another hostess.

Im rating this based on my first visit.Came here on a weekday @ night. The place looks pretty cool. They  play music n have couches, tables, heaters (that didnt work) outside. $12 for hookah for 2 ppl. The ppl that work there are ok. Not the best customer friendly attitude but its not horrible. Its a cool place to just lounge.

This is coming from a non-hookah smoker...this is coming from somebody whose constantly surrounded by avid hookah smokers but just hasnt done it yet. no, sorry, im a cigar enthusiast. Weird, right?Anyway, this place seems pretty cool, very chill environment. You walk in, a hostess sits you in the patio and you order hookah. The outdoor patio is interesting. Ive never seen so many ikea couches poised to look so...inviting before. We always go for couches. They're comfy and you can get lost in your own corner somewhere. Theres also a small waterfall and a stereo that pumps out hip hop music.  What's cool about this place is that you're able to light up anything you want....except for the illegal stuff. So if you're in to defiling your lungs with other tobacco products, go for it! My sisters like the house special blend and the strawberry. I ordered tea one time and it never came. The staff here are nice enough, when they finally see you and begin serving you, that is. A couple of times Ive been and they were really slow getting to us. After that initial order, you're good cuz they get attentive. The coal guy is really nice and theres a different guy who walks around and constantly asks how everything is. The crowd here is definitely college kids and some high school seniors (my friend's little cousin was here and we ran into her) If you get annoyed easily when people curse too much during a minute long conversation, or hate PDA (well, beyond PDA, a couple times i saw these horny assholes damn near start humping right on the couches) or just people who think they're cooler than they are, you might be turned off. Overall, not a bad place to hold a conversation or just sit with friends and relax.

This place used to be awesome!!! arabic decor with comfy pillows to sit on the ground and low couches, deep wine reds and turqouise embroidered furniture and gold tassels. not to mention the Hookah is really really good and they have some awesome flavors. I remember when people like fletcher worked here and he would change the Shisha for us without us asking. They had refills and you didn't have to order a drink like at equator. Ken and Nate used to own this place, um I'm not to sure anymore since the whole venue changed. The inside is stripped bare kind of trashy with a pool table and hookah bongs on the wall. The patio is the most decorated out of the whole venue and is a really good size. Couches everywhere and really dark.Nate is the nicest guy ever, he told me he imported the Shisha and the Hookah is exactly like the Nirghila I had in Istanbul.I rented this place out on my 20th birthday when it 1st opened and It was the best birthday party I could ask for. I had cold dispenser of jungle juice, table of alcohol, kegs of beer, Henna artist, free hooka, people threw up in the restroom and ken was cool about it (what a saint). My friends still talk about it to this day. I'm really sad the whole place changed although the patio did get an upgrade and they made the place a whole lot bigger. Please BRiNG the old  (5 star) exhale baaackkkkk!!!!

Ah many a nights spent at Exhale....First things first you need to be 18 and over for this place and they will card you.  I also recommend that you call in advance to reserve a couch because it will be well worth it.  They don't offer alcohol but they do offer a bevy of fine teas and your local variety of soda's and vitamin waters.  If you're in need of a beer head to The Bull Bar around the corner on 7th street for a quick drink. As far as flavors go I say pay the extra two dollars for the exotic flavors and puff away.  The back room is a just a fun place to be to sit around and chat the night away.  They are open til 2 Sunday thru Thursdays and open til there are people left on Friday and Saturday.  The owner is a cool guy but sometimes can be intimidating and the regulars are always fun.At certain points they will turn on belly dancing music and the female staff with don their belts and shake it for the joint.  Very fun because the owner and his buddies will usually break out the drums and play along.Aside from the belly dancing you can find the latest in top 40 hip hop on the projector.  The outdoor area is sheltered from the rain but it can and usually is a bit chilly.  BRING A WARM JACKET!The only cons are the slow service for coal when it gets busy or when the coal guy is talking to his friends.... ** tip: get to know the guys name that night and don't be afraid to shout his name from across the room and say coal!**Aside from the slow coal refills this is a close and very fun place if you bring your friends to relax on a couch if you can get one and drink really good Arabic teas and smoke some fine hookah.I say go for the watermelon, white peach, grape, double apple, and mint.  If you're feeling bold try something that sounds interesting or you can mix.  If you don't like it a refill is only 5 dollars. They have just renovated so the place looks very classy now.  They have a brand new pool table and a casino style card table as well as chess and other board games to pass the time while you smoke.  If you also want to buy any hookah related paraphernalia you can pick them up here as well.  Overall just come by and check it out!  Take the time to get to know the peoples names and faces and enjoy the sweet hookah!GO!

It's an alright place. There's couches outside, with basicly christmas lights, giving it a relaxing atmosphere. Music is alright, they play rap and techo. I used to get in without them checking for id, and the people there were really chill. Now, the people working there are more strict, and there's a 90% chance they'll ask for ID.What you could try though, is maybe buying something cheap from their hookah store, and sometimes they'll let you smoke without checking for IDs. I'd sometimes do that. And another thing that I find a pain in the ass; no more than two people per hookah. Sucks cause if you have a third person, they have to pay to rent a whole seperate hookah. Laaaaaaaaaaaame.Service is decent. But there was this one time i went there, and there was a group of desturbing drunk chicks... We complained about them, and they didnt ask them to leave or anything! The place can get really loud, and really packed. It's not really a place to go to if you perfer some peace.
