Great food , even better service, plates are big so you can share, if you go you have to try the koobideh, so so good, ohh and the tadiq was amazing top it with whatever the daily stew is, guaranteed you will be hooked.

I've only had Shekarchi through their catering service so I have not experienced the parking issues or slow service mentioned by other yelpers.  They treat repeat customers very well so I have no complaints in the service department.Let's talk about the food itself.  To start things off, the baba ghanoush dip is mouthwatering. It has a great consistency and the pita bread is freshly baked!  For a main course, the Joojeh  Kebab (Chicken Kebab) are my favorite.  The chicken marinade has a tangy kick to it and it pairs well with plain rice.  And to end things off, Shekarchi makes a mad Halva. If I remember correctly, they are only open during lunch and it can get quite busy so call ahead to avoid the waiting headache if you have time constraints.

Wow their food is really good.  I had clients come in from Canada and I suggested we try Persian since they hadn't it before.  We went to Shekarchis and ordered their sampler meal (had all the various types of kabobs).  My Canadian colleagues could not stop talking about the lamb chops.  I'm not that big into lamp, but their ground beef kabobs are so well seasoned that it puts many other Persian restaurants to shame.  Just beware that during lunch rush it maybe difficult to find seating like other reviewers said don't let the scaffolding scare you, it really is a treat to eat there.

This place is right next door to my office so I eat there all the time.  The food is great (one of the best Kebobs in town) yet don't expect good service!

Shekarchi catered the Persian New Year feast at City Hall last month, and it's popular with my Iranian co-workers.  It's a tad pricier than the other Persian places in the area, but it's classier too, with tablecloths, high ceilings and vines and fountain -- suggestive of the hanging gardens of Babylon.  Portions are decent.  My only disappointment has been the piece of crispy crackling from the bottom of the rice pot I had today -- Koreans eat this too, which normally softens in soup or hot water.  My friend said the crispy rice was much too hard -- and stale.  I asked him what he thought of Lillet's on 9th, in the Fashion District.  He said since it's changed hands a couple of times, quality has gone down measurably.  The building Shekarchi is in is undergoing a major facelift, which might explain why it wasn't packed at noon as in the past.

Great, Ah-mazing, deliSH, yuMM-O Food!We ordered the family platter #1 that includes: Chicken Kabob, Filet Kabob, Ground Beef Kabob and Lamb Shank. It was A LOT OF food ~ the portions are super generous. The meat is tender, well seasoned, the ground beef kabob took me to heaven ~ and the lamb... oooOOOoooooHHHH the LAMB.For 38.00 dollars you get enough food to feed 3 hungry man, and I would never imagine you could have a marvelous banquet for such a bargain in Los Angeles. Definitely will come back for more!

Was this lunch spot worth the 2hrs and getting busted at work for coming back late? OH HELL NO! I met up with 5am and minty for our Thurs DT yelper meet. I knew from 5ams post that i would have to rush the lunch in order to get back to work on time. They were both there sitting when i came in, placed my order, and the waiting game began. Shauna had ordered a yogurt drink and never got it with her water. After 45 mins of munching on the pita bread our meals came. I had the dark chicken kabob with basmati rice and roasted tomato. The chicken was tangy, moist, and tender ($11). I ended up sprinkling some persian seasonings on the rice for added flavor along with the roasted tomato. I am not sure if the guy was the manager or an employee who told us almost towards the end of our meal and apologized that they were short handed a cook and a waiter. He should of mentioned something to us when we sat down and or over the phone when 5am tried to place our order ahead of time. Sorry pal but that doesn't cut it....apologize after the fact.

Great Mediterranean spot. Was in downtown for a meeting and my client recommended. I had the filet mignon which was cooked a perfect medium. The hummus was fresh, as well as the pita bread, and tabbouleh. One of the managers spoke with us about their opening and said they are working on a liqour license. Only reason I gave a 4 is that being centered in downtown with so many business people they should be able to get you in and out quicker. We were there well over and hour, just for the 2 of us.

I ate there for the first time today, along with two friends who had never eaten there as well.  In fact, it was a birthday lunch and the birthday girl was quite pleased.  The prices were good and the portions were large. I had chicken (dark meat) and ground beef kebobs with their speciality rice which includes carrot, orange peel and almonds. I was very happy with this meal and would  recommend it to anyone. The building in which the restaurant is located is undergoing renovation, so we were a little apprehensive as we approached. (I do not recommend the garage in the building. Try the parking lot across the street.)

it does take some time to get your food compared to other joints. the price is a bit expensive compared to other joints. but its about the only really nice and good restaurant in the area. especially as far as middle eastern goes. outside is not so nice cuz its in an old building but its been there forever and the area is historic. the owner and the staff is really nice and gracious as well. come early leave late and enjoy yourself! and bring me some left overs!
