I really enjoyed my time in this restaurant. We went for a friend's birthday party and I wondered why we were the only ones in the place. I think it was something to do with Ramadan, but I am ignorant.Regardless, our server Amy was a delight and we got some pretty cool desserts for the birthday celebration. We basically tried the whole menu and the fried chicken was pretty good. They didn't have their rotisserie chicken that time, but everything else was great. If you are dining in, I recommend the Price Special to try a little of everything.

So I decided to visit the Lawndale Farmer's Market one day, when I came across this sweet little girl selling hummus. I LOVE all things hummus, so decided to take her up on her offer and try her homemade hummus. I was a little overwhelmed at first, because she had a gazillion different flavors. I tried sun dried tomato, jalapeno cilantro, artichoke, and original. There were a few more, but I forgot what they were. All I can say is that the hummus' were all so creamy and delicious. You can tell that they're all freshly homemade and no preservatives were added. I bought a couple containers that day and they were both gone in 2 days.I've been meaning to head over to the restaurant, but I finally got my chance about a month ago, and LOVED their food. All their plates are made to order and full of flavor. My sister and I shared the chicken and beef kebab lunch plate. The beef was tender and the chicken was moist and very well seasoned. Their pickled turnip are delicious and their salads are great as well. And do not forget to ask for their garlic sauce. It is AMAZING, if you love garlic. It is delicious with pita or with any of the meats.I'd be a regular if it weren't too far from my house. It can get pretty backed up during lunch, so I suggest you call ahead. The staff is super friendly and easy going. It's funny how people believe that one has to travel to the nicer neighborhoods in LA and pay big bucks for good food. WRONG!I love ethnic foods, and Mediterranean is probably my favorite. And if you aren't aware, I am currently (and have been for the past 10+ years) on the quest for the best shawarma in Los Angeles.I'm currently sitting at my desk at work eating food from the Hummus House in Hawthorne, and I have to say that it's some really tasty stuff. I ordered:-chicken shawarma plate ($11) -- a little bit greasy, but a huge portion of well-seasoned, tender chicken shawarma. The garlic sauce is delicious, and it came with a basic side salad but I don't think I will have room for it, although even if I did the dressing doesn't smell so hot. It also comes with an order of your choice of hummus (they have around 10 different kinds), and I opted for the roasted garlic hummus. It's about average hummus, not great, not bad.--samosas ($4) -- your choice of meat or veggie, I went for two of each (4 in an order). Tasty, although probably better when you eat them at the restaurant, because they had turned a little bit soggy by the time that I got to them. The veggie was plain but okay, and the meat was fairly tasty with a nice little spicy kick. All in all, reasonable prices, and pretty good food, although like I said a little bit too greasy for my taste. 4 stars for the shawarma plate, 2 stars for the hummus, and I won't rate the samosas since I didn't give them a fair shot.I'm not big on Mediterranean food, but I was very impressed with this place. When we got there, I was so excited because along the walls were little booth style seats but they had cushions on them to make them look like little couches. It just went with the decor of the place. We tried the samosas as an appetizer. The meat ones were good, but the vegetable ones were really good.I got a two kebab meal with chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was amazing...it was perfectly marinated and cooked just right (not too dry, like some places make it). The chicken was delicious too!. The meal came with salad, hummus of your choice, and pilaf and all the pita bread you want. Come with a big appetite because it's a lot of food. I definitely want to go back to try other things.Great Persian food and I'd expect that for a restaurant with an Islamic center next door. Lunch specials are great and well-valued. Lunch was under $10 for kakobs, rice, hummus, pita bread, and persian salad. Just be aware of your surroundings as it's located in a not-so good area.Had a great group going away function here - a party of 50 people. A little bit tight on space in the big room, but great meal options and terrific service considering our group was a bit larger than expected. Great manager/coordinator in the set up. Received a lot of praise for the Jalapeno/Cilantro Hummus, lamb, and baklava! Wonderful experience for the group, and we'll surely go back.

This place is very good and very reasonably priced! What I liked best was that it's a sit down restaurant. Very pleasant decor.Had the fried chicken plate ($7.50) which came with hummus, rice, and a salad. The fried chicken takes a while to come out (20 minutes-ish) so don't order it unless you have time to wait. The fried chicken is truly as good as everyone says, juicy chicken with a light crunchy batter. The rice... do they put cinnamon in it or something? I can't make up my mind whether I like it or not. And the salad looked colorful, what with red onions, pink tomatoes, and purple beets, but had way too much dressing and was skippable. The hummus is as good as everyone says, but I would prefer if it came out warm. At least the pita was warm. Tried the three pepper hummus, which had a subtle kick to it but not really spicy. Also had the artichoke hummus which was good, but not much artichoke flavor. The garlic and everything else overwhelms the subtle artichoke, but it was good nonetheless. All the appetizers are $3.99, including a hummus sampler, 6 falafel, and 4 samosas. Those are big appetizers for such a low price. I hope their prices stay low!

If you like unpretentious, authentic and tasty Middle Eastern, this is the place. I'm not a big hummus fan, but I tried olive, sun dried tomatoes, and a spicier (halepeno?) hummus, and they were all excellent with the pita bread. Two work colleagues and myself came for a weekday lunch. The place was recommended to me by a local. I had one of their lunch specials - their beef shawarma - and again a recommendation from my local friend, and a great delicious choice. The price was also a great value at something like $7. The place has a nice, homey feel to it, and friendly courteous waitresses.I plan to be back, and recommend it to anyone who might be in the LAX airport area and looking for Middle Eastern food.

I liked this place a lot for a few reasons...The restaurant itself is very well decorated and clean. They have different 'flavored' hummus and 5 (jalapeno, three spices, sun dried tomato, traditional, and I can't remember the 5th one) of them were yummy! The rest of the food was exceptionally delicious. I had the lunch special with the chicken kabob - tasty! The salad was alright - nothing special about it. I thought my meal was reasonably priced - $7.50 for hummus, pita bread, salad, rice and chicken kabob. The only downside was the wait for our food; don't know if it was because we went during the lunch hour or not, but it took too long to get our main course, but I will definitely go back again.
