The good - Cheaper then any of the Taco trucks in the area which could be a good thing for the noobs over at the college. The bad - I went there one night with some friends from work and I swear that they ran out of meat and substituted the meat with some ground beef mixed in. I was like WTF is this shit.  I tossed that plate of horse shit on the ground near my car and raced over to Rambo's.I will give these guys another chance in the future, but that shit better be carne and not hamburger helper taco flavor

i saw this place mentioned when looking at El Tapatio's ratings, so i decided to try it out. I tried a carne taco from here and one from Rambo's.. I have to say that i favored Leo's i went back for another at Leo's after having a carne and a carnitas from Rambo. Rambo's meat was kind of dry and the atmosphere wasnt as good as Leo's. The guac on the taco's is good and overall, it is pretty delicious. i give it 4 stars because of the pretty good carne meat, free guac, 1.25 tacos and being open so late!!

My rating of this place fluctuates from time to time, so for now 4 stars, but who knows what it will change too. I think the quality of the food directly corresponds to the number of drinks you have had over the night. But hey I will be coming back because I love the chance you take when you eat here late after drinking all night and might regret it for about 5 hours the next day when your in the bathroom non stop, if you know what i mean *WINK* *WINK*

Having tried Rambo's a few weeks ago, I had to balance the scales and give Leo's a shot.  Ordered the all meat asada burrito.  I am not a fan of the all-meat variety of burritos, but seeing that they didn't have rice I didn't want to jump ship and run down to Rambo's (thought that might seem rude) I stayed.  Glad I did, because it was damn tasty.  I don't really like how they put all the sauces on it for you - I like to add my own guac, cilantro etc....I have a system.  Oh, the quesadillas looked killer.I like Leos- But will probably go to Rambos if  I want a burrito with rice in it.

Leo's is known for it's vegetarian options for a reason. My main beef with veggie burritos(and most other cheap burritos for that matter) is how much rice gets stuffed in there. Leo's doesn't screw around with that stuff. If there was rice burrito, then I was certainly duped because I did not see or taste it. All I tasted were the tasty beans, salsa and thick saucy cheese. The quesadillas were also very good, and well priced. The place to hit up after hours in Eagle Rock to soak up the booze...Honestly, I like this place a lot and have been eating here for 5 years. If I'm ever in the area, it's 100% going down. Burrito, quesadilla, tacos, these are the only items to my knowledge you can get.I like the meat, cause it's saucy and tasteful. One time, my friend ate 2 burritos and a quesadilla.Leo way to go my immagrant friend, i take back every negative thing i said, wow did it hit the spot the last few times, I gotta admit...that nasty old truck with no were to sit after u get your food has really won over my heart and i dont just give out 4 stars either!TFR Ok guys honestly, 4 star and above is WAYYYYYYYY to much, seriously, this place is 3 star and not… The best quesadilla I have tasted.  The carne they use is authentic and delicious! The food seems to be as clean is it could get coming out of a taco truck and I've never been disgusted by anything there.  I've been going to this place for about 4-5 years and I still occasionally make my way out to Eagle Rock for some Leo's.

I love authentic mexican food, not Don Cuco's or El Torito, REAL mexican food! But being a vegetarian gets in the way... That is why I must say hooray for Leo's Taco Truck! While I am normally relegated to the consumption of a plain cheese quesadilla or a bean burrito at some stands, Leo's has several tasty veggie options! Try the Veggie quesadilla! It is filled with gooey cheese, tomatoes, peppers, avocado, and lots of spice! Just what a girl needs after a long day!Vamanos!

I had a pretty good al pastor taco here. For $1.25 (which they ask you to pay when you pick up your order), it was decent. I could see myself running here if I was at All Star Lanes. I liked the guacamole they used which was almost a liquidy salsa verde. Meat options are carne asada, pollo, al pastor and veggie. For some reason, the tacos did take a bit longer than the average taco truck or stand and it wasn't because there were a hoard of people around.

This is the best taco truck I know.  Great flavor, clean, consistent, friendly, great value.  Great tacos, burritos and quesadillas.  Since I first tried this truck, I now unintentionally compare every taco, burrito quesadilla I come across to Leo's (and the result is always "...not as good as Leo's").  Leo is very friendly and people seem truly fond of him.  And now on to the stuff I like and have tried:Chicken tacos: - the chicken is grilled; moist, flavorful and crispy on the outside - guacamole is very tasty, but i usually order without to really taste the chicken, or I get one taco with guac, one taco without. - the green salsa they have perfectly compliments their chicken tacoAsada tacos: - very clean meat; consistently lean and not fatty - well seasoned moist - a squeeze of the lime makes a great time!Asada quesadilla: - addictive. - has a light tomato sauce, kinda like marinara, that makes this quesadilla deliciously unique!Veggie taco: - lovingly stuffed with beans, cheese, guacamole, chopped onion, cilantro - add the green salsa for the win! - you'll be a fan even if you're not vegetarian(i haven't tried the al pastor in a long time because I'm too addicted to the chicken and asada, but i hear good things)Selection: - they offer (4) fillings: Asada, chicken, pastor, veggie.  Less-is-more definitely applies here as I appreciate their focused menu offering only the things they excel at.  Not like other trucks with bloated menus offering more choices but sucking at them.  Who really wants to try mediocre tripas or sesos?  Not me, no sir.Unsolicited suggestions/tips from me: - If you're trying it for the first time, go during the week (except Monday when they're off) when there's not too much people and the wait is really short.  Also, you'll be sober so you can really appreciate the flavor explosion that is Leo's. - Come back on a late Friday or Saturday night after you've had good bar adventures.  A few tacos or a burrito will hit the spot.  And you'll meet "interesting" people... - Try their excellent green salsa and radishes. (the radishes are generally subtly-flavored but their purpose is to offer a complimenting texture and a healthy CRUNCH to your soft tacos burritos.) - Need an ordering suggestion? try this favorite of mine:    (1) chicken taco   (1) asada taco    go halfers on a asada quesadilla with a friend    supplement with (1) veggie taco if you're still hungry - While waiting for your to-go order to be made, walk over to the 7-Eleven down the block and pick up a large bottle of Corona ...it goes great with chicken tacos!  (-or- grab a few mini-bottles of Sutter wine if you're feeling fancy-pants) - Beware of impostors (like the "fake Leo's" on Monday nights when the "real Leo's" is off.)  Remember:  "If it doesn't say Leo's on the truck, you better exclaim WTF???" - check out the short documentary on the Leo's website (yes, this taco truck has a website!)  It's an interesting day in the life of Leo's.  Some observations:  Leo is genuinely happy and excited to be doing this, and you definitely taste it in his food.  His wife, Sonia, not so much.  [she's now his Ex-wife, and she set up her own competing taco truck several blocks north - despite admitting in the film that she wasn't happy working in a taco truck and didn't want to make tacos for the rest of her life.  Go figure.  I've tried her tacos.  They taste.... loveless.  Seriously.]Conclusion:  You really can't go wrong with anything here.  Their meats are neat and their veggies are... good.Que rico!  Orale!

This place isn't what I've grown accustom to back when I first had it. I've been a long time customer, back when the Fresh Easy market was an Albertson and before that a Lucky's. Only a hand full of people can say they've been here when they first opened and will probably agree with me that the food has changed over the years.  Don't get me wrong, their tacos burritos and quesadilla are still good but it doesn't compare to what it once was.  Nothing can last forever, I can only dream of something I had in the past (kind of sad)I will still continue to come here after a long night of boozing and recommend this place to anyone who hasn't been.  Great food, cheap price and a great way to hit on drunken girls craving for asada.  This place is a landmark in Los Angeles / Eagle Rock and should be visited at least once in your lifetime.
