I read Ryan J.'s review and had to test it. I'm 24 but I look young. I also dress like a casual college student because well, I'm technically still a college student (does grad school count?). His review didn't surprise me though, as I'm sure tons of idiots probably walk in looking for hookahs and what not.I've smoked a few different cigars but still consider myself a novice. So I walk in in my shorts and tshirt with my similarly dress friend and ask about some mild, novice smokes. The guy (owner? I'm not sure...) immediately gets up and leads me to the humidor and talks a little about what he likes, what I like, etc.The guy was cracking jokes and puns left and right, and offers to cut our cigars for us when I remembered I had left mine far away. All in all, a pleasant experience.I can say I'll definitely be back when my supply runs dry.

Swanky shop, for a particular cigarette smoker who wants fresh tobacco, it almost justifies spending 25% more for your pack of cigarettes.  Were I an unchoosy Marlboro Light man, I'd just roll up to Arco and pick up my ish, but with age, my tastes have become more distinguished, I'd like to think.  $7.60 for a pack of American Spirits w/tax.  Sure, you can get them for $6 in less swanky locales, but it's westwood.  And the owner has a really big dog he has to feed, and nice suits he needs pressed.  I like this shop, and finding fresh cigarettes is not easy to do.  After all, time is money, and I don't have much of either. Good selection of cigars, laid back, classy ambience.

If you're a youngster, don't bother going into SM Cigars.  They don't want your type round here, ya hear? If, however, you appear to be over the age of 25, then velcome velcome velcome!I went in here a few years ago to buy some cigarettes (when I smoked... ah the good ol' days), and the guys weren't overly helpful.  Several years (and a few wrinkles) later, I went in this past weekend to get my dad a cigar for Father's Day, and they were VERY helpful.  What a difference a few extra rings around the old trunk make :(I walked in and went straight back to the humidor.  Their prices are a little high, but for the most part reasonable.  But I was unfamiliar with some of their brands, so when a gentleman came in and asked if he could be of assistance (wait, what?  customer service?) I glady enlisted his expert opinion.  He asked what I wanted, and after I gave him the criteria, he settled on a selection that appeared and smelled to be a good one... and my dad confirmed that it was!  Of course, if it received 94 points it can't be bad, right?  The guy hedged his bets on the favorite.  But hey, a good selection is a good selection. They have a quality variety of other products, cutters, lighters, hookahs, etc.  All in all a fine smoke shop.  I've seen better, but I've definitely seen worse.  4 stars, and I'll definitely be back.

I don't know much about tobacco or smoke shops, but from the ones I've visited, this one seemed pretty chill and helpful. The previous 2 ones that I've gone to were usually manned by seedy men who probably dropped out of high school to smoke weed, and though they could be friendly to a certain demographic of people, they're not exactly the most helpful associates.Living near the Westwood district, I just decided to check this place out. The decor is relatively classy and it seems like they mostly sell cigarettes, cigars, lighters, and things of that sort. If you're looking for bongs, probably not the best place to go. I didn't look around too much, but the selection for cigarettes was pretty good. But the sales associate was pretty helpful. Just recommending best sellers and stuff, and he helped me fix up my zippo by selling me some flints and replacing it for me too. Not exactly going ABOVE AND BEYOND, but the effort was well received. He wasn't too pushy either -- simply, recommending things along the lines of what I was asking for.I'm not a big smoker, but when I do, I'm not a big fan of cheap cigarettes. I'll definitely be checking this place out more.
