Milanos Café is a perfectly situated on Reseda Blvd. between Oxnard and Topham next to the Metro stop. It is ideal to pick up your morning cup of joe and French pastry if you are a daily commuter or have a day pass and want to stop off here for lunch. They are open nearly all day and night from 6 am to 2 am. These hours and location are not only perfect for mass transit users, but for college students as well. They have free wifi and plenty of seating for lone studiers or groups. The building was painstakingly renovated and features exposed high vaulted beams, has a European flair, outdoor seating, a smoothie and coffee bar as well as a full menu. They have delicious healthy breakfast choices, sandwiches, pastas and wraps. Not only is it absolutely beautiful inside, they really focus on the fine details and ingredients. The coffee is a custom blend from South American. It is dark, rich and bold. I had two large cups and couldn't get enough. I believe their grand opening celebration is April 16th, but is currently open for business. I had a custom omelet with a side salad and a creamy house vinaigrette dressing.  My husband had the Isreal Breakfast and we both shared a yummy French pastry with multiple layers and white chocolate.

Finally, a neighborhood coffee hangout that is not part of a chain! The first thing you notice is the structure itself... they pulled out all the stops.Been going here quite regularly... the food is good, the coffee is good, the heuvos rancheros is incredible! Additionally, they have two televisions if you need to catch the latest sport scores. Best of all... they are open late.

We've been here a couple times now - the food is good (maybe a hair pricy), and the coffee is very good.  The service is great and the place feels more like a Ventura Blvd restaurant than on Reseda Blvd!

Beautiful interior! Really unexpected. The food looked great and my drink was yummy. The prices are high, but lower than Aroma so I am not complaining too much. I went on a Friday night at 9pm and it was DEAD. Only workers and workers friends/family. I hope they survive! Next time I am ordering crepes. Or a salad. Or a sandwich. Or ice cream. Oh dear too many choices here...

I went in here as part of a study group for my college class. Most restaurants wouldn't want us there, talking loudly and making a commotion. However, Milano's was very accommodating and even let us put a bunch of tables together. Very quiet, pleasant atmosphere; very attentive waitstaff. I order the penne pasta with rosa sauce (marinara mixed with alfredo, or so they said) and it was to DIE FOR! The best damn pasta I've ever had! I didn't even pay attention to my prof, and that was why I was there! I have made this my new favorite restaurant. As a broke college student, I don't think that this place is too expensive. I have gone to other places and seen the quality of the food dragged through the mud while they charge you through the nose; Milano's charges fair prices for delicious, freshly prepared food. You get what you pay for!

I wannnt to give this place 5 stars, but something is holding me back. I think it's the service/awkward location/bad parking/creepy chefs. So, 4.5 is more like it.But my actual meal was bomb, as were my friends'. It all started with us being extremely hungover and craving sandwiches, but from somewhere other than our usual hangover lunch places. I did a little Yelp action and came across Milano's and it looked pretty promising. Well actually, i just read the first 2 sentences of the 2nd paragraph of Brooke S.'s review and i was sold, haha. So we headed over and the place was actually pretty cute, despite it being in the oddest location ever. We got some really delicious fresh bread and it was served with a chimichurri-ish type of sauce that was pretty good. As for our meals, one of my friends got a Turkey Sandwich w/ Israeli salad (which is just typical middle-eastern type salad - cucumberstomato w/ a really lemony dressing.) My other friend made her own panini w/ chicken, pesto, swiss, avocado and lettuce. I, naturally, got the Salmon Sandwich but instead of cream cheese i got an herb mayo. And both of our sandwiches were served with a salad as well. I gotta say, it was all absolutely delicious. Especially the bread they used on their sandwiches. I'm SUCH a sucker for fresh bread and theirs really hit the spot. I had a bite of my friends' chicken pesto and it was really yummy but they didn't put enough sauce on it so it was kind of dry. But i loveddd my sandwich salad. The lox was delicious and they were actually really generous with the portion. Not to mention, i could barrellly finish half of the sandwich. When we were all done we kept waiting for our waitress to bring us the bill but she was too busy chatting with some of her friends who were there studying. So finally we just got up and payed at the counter. Each of our meals came out to $13ish i believe? Not bad. And well worth it.While i was paying, i noticed that they had jars and jars Nutella offered crepes...well, blintzes, but it's pretty much the same thing. But i was way too stuffed to even consider it. :[ But next time i come i'll definitely have to give it a try. That, and their frozen yogurt, smoothies, and pastries. So i think it's safe to say that i'll be back here quite a bit in the near future, and i suggest you give it a go as well. :]

Well ok i'm a fan of their Vanilla Ice blends!!! Do not go for the cheesecake, its a whipped cream rip off! I also went to a CSUN study group and the penne pasta with rosa sauce (marinara mixed with alfredo) that day was very good!!!! Then I returned another day with my girlfriend only to get mediocre service and pasta...   =-(

What a great place next to the orange line station! Sometimes I go here for a coffee, or just have a bite to eat. The sandwiches are pretty good... the pasta is quite good too. They have a nice theme going on here, and it's almost a gem in a pretty questionable area (near that location of vice known as "Babes and Beer" we hear so much about in the local papers). Anyways, I like the smoothies too. The prices are a bit expensive, but I don't come here too often. They have some good deals for certain items too. It's been a while since I last went when writing this review, but if I recall I had the pesto pasta... pretty good plate of pasta... though slightly pricey. I do recommend this, but it's not an everyday thing especially for a college student. I spent about $13 dollars last time I had lunch and a drink. The service is also sometimes lacking, as I too had to go up and pay at the counter. Nonetheless, it's a surprising relatively new business in the area. Maybe it's a sign of things to come and a certain revitalization to the area... I would hope.

So I am coming from school, I know I need coffee to stay alive (or awake,) and I'm thinking of the Coffee Bean that I typically go to, but I decide to give a try Milano's, right on the corner of Reseda and the Orange Line station. The place is spacious and not overcrowded. High ceilings, soft lights, good temperature (unlike all franchises around here, which cannot regulate their ACs) Right at this moment they are playing classics like Frank Sinatra.Staff is friendly, with real personalities -not the super plastic waiters you see at other places- The food is REAL, tasty, and well priced; portions are a little smaller than what the American market is used to, but to me it seemed perfect (happy not to have to ask for a box to go)I got the Hawaiian Salad, and a espresso for $13; fair enough.Cool overall vibe, kind of for a casual date (which I'll bring soon,)or for a workaholic like me, because they have free Wifi :) and they are open late; kitchen closes at 11, and the place at midnight!so in SUMMARY:-Good quality food-Reasonable Price-Friendly Service (you can walk to the cashier and order, or seat down on the outside tables and the waiter will go take your order)-Cool vibe-Open Late-Free Wifi-Hookah!+although I am seating alone, it doesn't feel awkward like in some other restaurants :)Happy to find this place tonight!

LEt me tell you that halfway through a 20 mile bikeride on the path through the valley (YAY!  WE LOVE THE BIKEPATH)  there is this awesome cafe.  If you sneeze (or whatever), you'll miss it.Let's just say for starters, the waiters are classy and amazing.  If they're on there way to be the next rock, reality tv, or whatever stars they're doing a find job acting like they love the job that pays the bills in the meantime.  WE LOVE that!  Best service in Los Angeles, hands down. They have the freshest drinks made to order--from a lightweight lemon spritzer thingy with mint, to the hard core juice.  I mean it--they're made to order!  EAch salad and sandwich has fresh, tasty ingredients and the dressings and sauces are so flavorful.  I've never had a dessert--but they look tantilizing behind their sweet glass cases.  I'm not sure how this place got it so right, but every cafe in LA could swing by and learn a thing or two.PS-Friday nights are dead due to the "Shabbat" so take the opportunity to get the whole place to yourself.  Folks are just as nice and eager to please on the quiet nights as I imagine they are with the local crowds.Cheers!
