Cute little laundry place, right across the street from the farmers market, it was really easy to not be bored out of my mind while doing laundry.

There's nothing I hate more than having to pay to do something that I didn't really want to do in the first place.  That being said, most of my experiences at Bubble Beach have been fine.  No one has ever stolen my clothes, and the people there are cool about refunding your money if a machine eats your quarters.  I'd advise that you don't go on the weekend... it gets crowded and there's no real sense of order.   And they just jacked up their prices, which is disappointing.

Nothing bad about it, but nothing great about it either.  The parking in back was a welcoming surprise though.  I couldn't believe it when I stumbled on an open spot there.  The second welcoming surprise was the number of attractive women doing their laundry here, but maybe that's more a function of the part of town than the laundromat itself. It's $2.25 per wash, which is more expensive than the $1.00 per wash for the 1 washer I have in my apartment complex, so I haven't returned here for that reason and that reason alone.  If you're looking for a non-sketchy laundromat though, this place is perfectly fine and I will probably be back when I have huge amounts to do or someone is hogging the washer downstairs.

This is my go-to laundry mat. I guess the best part would have to be the free parking. Or maybe it's the fact that I've never had to wait for a machine and, even better, I can cater to my OCD and use 7 at a time! Or maybee its the  garish color scheme or rib-tickling name of the place. All I'm sayin' is, it's the cat's pajamas.UPDATE: this wonderfully nice woman who I'm not sure if she's homeless or actually works there but she's ALWAYS there and the last time I went, she ended up FOLDING ALL OF MY LAUNDRY! She won't take your money either- just a true blue sweetheart

I'm hysterical over blackbird's review.....and check out his photo of the woman washing the stuffed rabbit.  Grace Slick flashed through my mind, singing White Rabbit......Omigod, Bubble Beach holds memories for me, but not nearly that good.  I used to do laundry here sometimes when I lived on Venice Beach.  It was nice to have that little parking lot behind the laundromat because parking spaces on SaMo's Main Street are about as rare as hen's teeth.I seem to remember the dryers didn't run very hot, but hey....nobody's in a hurry at the beach......"And if you go chasing rabbitsAnd you know you're going to fallTell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillarHas given you the call..."

I've been here a bunch of times because I only have one washer and one dryer in my building but I usually have like 5 loads of laundry to do at once (including sheets, towels, etc..)I'd give 3 stars because its expensive and the washing machines are kind of small but I just like it too much to give less than a 4-star review.$2.25 per wash and the dryers give you 6 minutes for every $0.25. The driers hold up to 3 loads of laundry (but i recommend only putting 2 in there and on MEDIUM Heat... the HIGH Heat just makes your clothes so stiff and almost feel burnt). Its pretty safe, I usually walk down to Finn McCools for a beer while I'm waiting for my laundry to finish. Or if you go on a Sunday morning then its free parking for Farmers Market which is, literally, right across the street. Also, the staff is really nice and don't bother you or anything and sometimes if they're bored they'll help you fold your laundry! I do recommend this place... Enjoy!

When I used to crash at my boyfriend's beach shack while I was in town from SF, I would drag our laundry over to Bubble Beach for an adventure.  See, we would usually just drop it off and let them fluff-n-fold, til one day we noticed the proprietess wearing one of his shirts.  It wasn't some Old Navy, everyone's-got-it tee.  He had made it.  Ehn, whatever. The real fun came when you did your own laundry.  I would stake out the high capacity machines to get it all done with a quickness.  On my favorite day, this lady comes in with her 10-year-old daughter.  Little's dragging the biggest stuffed rabbit I've ever seen.  They enlist my help to shove this beast in the ginormo washer.  Wanting to see this happen, I comply.  They git 'er loaded up and dump in a box of suds but bolt when the machine starts overflowing with foam and rocking around.  Plus I have a pic.  Hi-larious.  That's why I love the beach.
