I'm not sure why this place got the negative reviews that it did. We ate there with a very large group and had excellent service. They treated us very well. Maybe because we are of Lebanese decent, we got special treatment?? I don't know. But even when my wife and I got take out (we look very Caucasian-y) they treated us great. The food was awesome in house and take out. A bit pricey, but great quality.   The resturant is a little odd. The only option is You're eating on a covered patio with a mean slant, or take it home. That is my only complaint.

Interesting little restaurant. It's all patio. They have heaters but I ended up wearing my leather jacket during dinner tonight. We sat near the far edge of the dining area and the heat didn't quite reach me.They had entertainment--a belly dancer. That always creeps me out. I don't know why, but I don't like strolling mariachis, opera singers, string trios...and I especially don't like belly dancers wandering around my table while I'm trying to eat. I have a one track mind and I have enough trouble eating and conversing with my date. Throw in an extra musical distraction and I get all discombobulated.Anyway, the service was friendly enough, but not very attentive. We ordered the hummus appetizer. It was tasty, but the pita bread was a little chilly--most likely due to the semi-enclosed dining room. For our entrees, I got the beef shawarma and girlfriend got the falafel. The food was alright. Not the most fantastic shawarma I've ever had, but not the worst. Girlfriend described her dish as "adequate". I ordered an Almaza beer, made in Lebanon. It was decent. Girlfriend enjoyed her tea.For desert, we shared an Ashta. Yes, I HAD to make a crack about eating an "ashtray" for dessert--girlfriend groaned--but It was absolutely delicious. Chermoya fruit, rosewater cream over banana slices, topped with pistachios. This tasty treat made up for a lot.Would I go back to Mediterranean Garden Grill? I don't know. Perhaps in a pinch. They had some big tables and it looks like a good place for a large group.

I doubt words could ever express how much I love this place. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Their grape leaves can not be compared to anything. Since having MGG's all others fall under the description firm little turds. While I don't think you could ever go wrong with anything on the menu, I suggest the lamb kabob plate and of course the stuffed grape leaves. Their prices are moderate but fair because the food is tasty and in good portions. This place has earned itself a place in my cell phone's directory. Another thing I love is that their take-out service is speedy. 10-15 minutes with a never fail record.

Can't wait to visit this place again. it's definitely a favorite.I'm not sure why this place got the negative reviews that it did. We ate there with a very large group and had excellent service. That is my only complaint.I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I've definitely had better mediterranean meals at other places. What I liked:The baba ganoush is wonderful! The beef and lule kebabs are wonderfully spiced and cooked. My favorite of all were the grilled vegetables that comes with the plates - i was left wanting more of their deliciously roasted skinless tomatos! What I did not like:The hummus was wayyy too salty both times I went there. The service was below average--rather than tending to customers, the waiters hang out in their corner with their backs to customers. We had to flag them down several times for water refills and the check. The chicken kebab was flavorful but very dry.I would go back occasionally to get my Mediterranean craving fix, but am still looking for a better restaurant in my area! The falafel at this place are just divine!!! I had a lunch plate order of them and got 4 huge falafel balls with hummus and some other delicious sauce. I loved them, some of the best I've ever had (and I'm a vegetarian). Bummed out that there is no AC and the fans don't keep it too cool - at lunch time in July it was hot and I was wearing a short sleeveless dress and was still hot. The food makes it worth it!

Food is terribly overpriced.  Portions are small.  My falafel was really salty.  Try Janet's Mediterranean in Duarte even though it's pretty much takeout only it's so much better.

This place is worth the hype. I've only been here twice but I enjoyed it as much as the first. While dining here, you'll feel like your actually in the Mediterranean. Would not recommend eating here on a hot summer day but on a cool relaxing evening.  I tried only a few things but I don't think you can go wrong with your selection or you can also go on the waiters recommendation.
