Olive Tree / Al Zaytouna Reviews

I went there with some friends the other day. i thought the food was so so. I wasn't super impressed or anything, but it wasn't bad. The way the restaurant is reminded me of Dennies. It was super hot since there is no ac. they don't have free cups of water though. I saw other tables just buy a can of coke from them or you can get bottled water for 1.25 too. service was quiet good from the owner, since he was very friendly. like jason mentioned earlier, i am not sure about the service of the young girl though.

One of my favorite restaurants. I come here fairly regularly.Authentic lebanese yum yums. I usually order the veggie dish, which comes with motabbal, tabouleh, hummus, falafel, and stuffed grape leaves, and a meat dish, usually the lamb kebob dish. I order some mint tea alongside with my meal. I am in love with their grilled cornish hen, which is so tender it falls off the bone, stuffed with spiced rice slivered pistachios. It is a special dish available on wednesdays only.I would have to warn you though, sometimes the food can be mediocre - come on a day where the woman cooks. When she's there, flavors, textures, and presentation is to perfection. Your taste buds will definitely be having a party. However, lately, the food has been cooked by the older man, who is the owner there. He is not very talented. Last time I went was the worst experience I had there. I ordered my lamb kebobs and they were actually tough and chewy instead of juicy medium rare like I usually get them. Not very happy at all. So I guess your experience will vary a bit, depending on who's cookin' that day. I really need to know that woman's schedule. I am usually serviced by the older woman waitress, not the younger girl, and she is very congenial and quick to service me, and always gives me extra extra olives because she knows how much I adore nibbling on them.Last time, after those horrendous lamb kebobs, she even told me she was going to kick the owner for killing my lamb kebobs. Then she went ahead and took it off the bill. Sweet. Kick back and relax with some hookah outside after you stuff yourself.

Very authentic Lebanese food. The Falafel are a must try and the chicken kabob is also great. Service is terrible and if you ask for water you pay for a bottle. Go for the food and forget everything is else. Small family run establishment where the focus in on the food

I went with a big group of 12 the other night. I showed up a bit late and missed out on some of the festivities. Portions were pretty big and I thought the service was much better than Jason A described. The owner had a lot of fun with our group.I thought the food was okay compared to other Persian fare that I've eaten. Prices are a bit higher than what I would have paid for average tasting food.

Definitely worth a try!!! Whenever we need towncar service, we call this guy, Sammy. He brings us Lebanese food from Anaheim whenever we want. The other night he brought me a kabob plate from here, and I must say it was damn good. Though I've driven by this place many times, I probably wouldn't have ever stopped since I don't know what to order. He brought me a grilled beef(ground) kabob and a chicken kabob. Both were cooked amazingly(not dry) and the rice pilaf was delicious. Moist and flavorful, seasoned perfectly. The to-go menu he gave me is extensive. I will definitely go back to try the restaurant!
