owner is f"""n rude!!! The place was very nice when it first opened, years ago. Now, it is just a bunch of hookers.
Bad experience by nona
This is the worst place and the owner is rude with the customers I will not go there again
A bunch of lies by M. L.
Some reviewers are lying about the prices and the quality for services...I do not know why. This place is a rip off through and through. No matter how much you order once you stop ordering the manager ask you to leave.....I regret ever going although in the first time I thought may be the guy had a problem with our big number but the second time we received another shitty treatment. There is no use to complain either as the shitty person is the owner of the place.
Very bad attitude by Fatima
One of the worst places when it come to attitude. The manager with his waiters are rude and not polite at all. If you go eat and drink then you have to leave unless you plan to keep ordering food and beverages. They are a bunch of disrespectful people and that is the bottom line.
Rip off and bad hosting by T
First of all this place is a rip off, they tell that you have to pay for a cover charge when you get ready to pay and leave, nobody tell at the door nithier it says any where that you have to pay this fee...
The owner will just move you seating to another spot for his liking and they are not courteous at all, one of the worst service that I got so far in any hooka bar.....
lebanese guy by Joe
that Lebanese dude who's workin' in the lounge is really fucked up and that's why am not gonna go there with my friends anymore
Horrible Customer Services by Mohammed Ismail
The worst place I've ever seen in my entire life. so, hookah lounges' owner must understand that their customers are more valuable than the cafe itself. no body gets there to pay whatever to satisfy the owner. we all go often there to have fun and enjoy our time. Melody proved that it's the worst cafe can ever be found. the manager treats his guest in a way like they work for him or as he make them a favor by letting them just sit there. the only job as the manager thinks is to empty your poket and get the hell out of there right away.
bad service by al iraqi

by MELODY SUCKS
Kamal isnt the manager he is the owner!! he is a horrible person doesnt know how to treat his customers only the people of money !!! its a trashyyy place full of men trying to pimp you to other men and so does the owner ! yuckkkkk what a shame for the arab community
by Hafgost
The manager Kamal is an awful man, who will snap at you unprovoked. Don't ever come to this place. Go to Fayrooz instead, where they know basic manners and how to treat people with respect.

so fun fun fun! Hookahs here are yummy and cheap! $10 for regular flavors and $15 for fresh fruit flavorsFood here-- portions are kinda small for Queens (just fine for my stomach size though! Don't wanna stretch that gut now!) Its a Lebanese joint with a lot of hummus, lamb and fried delights! The space is HUGE! the ambiance is good (good sexy dark candle lighting, kinda loud Lebanese music and the chairs are either couches with large pillows or patio deck chairs)Liquor? Drinks arent too cheap.... and the glasses they serve in are kinda small in comparison to other Astoria/Queens placesThis place has goooood entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays-- live DJ with a belly dancing showBUT those nights I came on the belly dancing nights... THEY FREAKIN TACKED ON A $10 COVER CHARGE TO EACH GUEST! thats not cool. They charge $2 for water but they dont care if you bring your own

Melody is a fun hookah bar with live Arabic music and belly dancers on the weekend. It has a really sexy atmosphere and its one of the only places on Steinway that you can drink and smoke hookah. However, they are kinda shady about what they charge you. Twice I have had issues; the first time was a Sunday night and our bill was $42 and I was going to put it on my credit card. The waitress told us that there was a $50 minimum, so I asked her to bring us some bottles of water to get us to $50. She not only did that, but also increased her gratuity to 25%. When we asked why she said that her boss told her to because it was Sunday and there was live music. I wanted to keep the itemized receipt for proof, but she chased me down after I left the restaurant saying that I could not keep it.The second time I went there on a Thursday night and they added gratuity for a group of 4 people. They also told us that we had to leave before midnight or we would have to pay cover of $10/person... even though we had already been sitting there smoking hookahs and the place was half empty. The atmosphere and the place is really cool, but just be advised when you go here to bring cash, and make sure you take a second look at all charges on your bill.

So, my first review on Yelp....Where do I begin? I guess i'll start with my first impression of Melody Cafe upon entering.....what seemed to be a middle eastern neighborhood, I expected to see more middle eastern people filling this huge space. Apart from a few huddles of hookah smokin' regulars, there wasnt much goin on...never a good sign. Then again it was a monday night, I give you that Melody.Yet, I was pleasantly surprised. I sat in my quaint little corner, a comfy corner booth laden with pillows. I ordered moroccan tea to drink. I recommend drinking this tea with your meal if you would like an example of simplicity=divinity. Mint steeped in a plain tea. Delicious. My favorite part of this experience. The falafel. Amazing. Though I am italian, I must admit I have a certain affinity for these savory fried treats. I have had them plenty of times, at plenty of places. I must admit that Melody Cafe has given me a reason to drive from Staten Island to Astoria. Huge, round falafel....Golden crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside.....Perfect thing to indulge in before an hour long hookah session, sinking deeper into my moroccan style booth. Sipping my Moroccan tea, smoking my hookah with fresh pineapple and peaches....Bisaha Melody Cafe'!

Ok, the hookah was good. However, as everyone mentioned, there's a shady cover charge... which they also tack tax and tip on to.. ha, can u imaging paying tip for a cover charge? it was $10 for hookah but somehow, the bill came out to be well over what I expected to pay. I won't be coming back that's for sure...

I didn't really like this place. Part of the fun of going out for hookah is just hanging out and talking with your friends, but this place was so loud I couldn't even hear my inner monologue. It's like the music caused my brain to shut down from pain. The hummus and lamb kefteh that we had was solid, but you lose 2 more stars for being out of chicken liver and baklava. Seriously, what kind of lebanese restaurant runs out of baklava? This must be indicative of a deeper gross mismanagement.

Melody is alright, its very spacious and laid back, when I went a few weeks ago hookah was 10$ which is slightly higher then most places in Astoria. When I got my hookah the hose was really dirty, as if it was rusting ( which is possible ) I told him to give me a new one. But all he did was blow in it and that was about it.Avoid this place on the weekends for the simple fact they charge a cover charge to get it, what kind of crap is that? a cover charge for a hookah spot? You be the judge of that.Over all its a "meh" type of place.
