Went for a friends' birthday party this past weekend, Friday night. Apparently this used to be a fun spot with hookah and good drinks, but no longer, There is no hookah, there's a cash bar, and all the drinks are seriously watered down (and sooo expensive for what they are, $10 for a malibu and pineapple??). There was no one there but our group and a few random people. The music was a mix of current and old hip hop hits, but the DJ does not know how to mix at all. Someone with an ipod could do better. It seems like this place is on the verge of closure... there isn't even a sign with the name of the place in front. I would not recommend coming here for any reason. The only reason we had fun was because of the company, not because of the venue.

A friendly and and welcoming bartender helps set the atmosphere in this tucked away little bar. It is a nice place to go for a drink after a nice date. They have hookah's available for smoking, some loungy electronica going on in the background, and generally a cool vibe. If only the drinks were a bit cheaper.

I always liked this place for drinks after work. It's not too crowded and the bartender will usually send you a shot to try. It's a little on the expensive side, but then again, it's in Manhattan.I recently went to The Door on a weekend evening and my friend enjoyed a peach hookah. I am not one for hookahs but he seemed content...

Nice, large lounge, with no cover or crazy prices when it comes to drinks and such, which is always nice. Not too pretentious either, which never hurt anyone. Minus on star for the mediocre hookahs though. I was here for a now-former co-worker's farewell party of sorts, and it is a great place for that kind of stuff, since it's not too loud, and large enough to have enough room to socialize and talk. They even have karaoke all the way at the back, and what seemed like a unisex bathroom, which is rather unorthodox in America, apart from gay bars in NYC, in my experience.

I went Sunday night around 11:30 or so and I had a good time! It did scare me that they had to pat me down before I walked into the place -- something bad must have happend there! I didn't end up going to the back of the bar -- and this talk of a swing is wanting me to go back and check it out!Oh, and bathroom attendants make me feel a little wierd -- this place had one. I felt kinda bad when I visited the restroom because I was out of cash and had to tip in quarters. There goes my laundry money! They do have good hookah!

This is the cool lounge you've been looking to hang out in after work. They also serve lunch, so you can run away for a naughty lunch break and take advantage of their eclectic cocktail menu.

So the management has recently changed and they are really trying to put themselves on the radar. Its a good option in an area with few cute after work bars. I spoke with the staff to let them know I was bringing a group from my office for happy hour and they were very happy to accommodate us. Free hookah happy hour is a pretty sweet enticement. It was definitely entertaining watching some of my coworkers try hookah for the first time. They brought us as many as we wanted for our tables which were set up in the nicely decorated front room. Good drink specials with beer and well drinks. They have a wii set up, if you want to be nerdy while you are drinking. Apparently they have a back room with a swing- but they were taping some weekly show at the time with D-list celebrity interviews.

Nothing special at all. Poor service, average drinks and just empty all around. The place has no energy to it. I couldn't wait to leave...

I would really rather give this place one star because of the service, but it's under new management and I had a good time with my friends. And one of my friends is going to start promoting there so I'm sure it will live up to it's potential. The bartender really really sucked. Although he was the only one working the bar, he just wasn't taking care of everyone. I've seen one bartender at work and still give everyone their orders. It took 10-15 min to get ONE DRINK. Again it still has potential, and I'll go try it again because the music was pretty decent as well. FYI friday nights are going to have a whole lot of spanish music. Decor is ok but it's really really dark in the back, but nice set up. We enjoyed a hookah and celebrated my friends bday. We made the best of it and had fun.

I'll give the other reviewers the benefit of the doubt and assume that this is a cool after work spot, because on a recent Friday night, it sucked to the point of being surreal. From the plastic cups, to the fucking up of the orders, to the waitress' unattractive exposed ass, to the creepy DJ who would be a great Horatio Sanz character, I became convinced that there must be a secret strip club or brothel somewhere in the back. But I don't think there is.A TV in the front bar area rotates pictures of vacant eyed customers (possibly after they've been roofied) instead of showing anything else or being turned off, either of which would be preferable. They have Guitar Hero.
