need some kebab fixins? running low on black currant juice? all out of sheep testicles? Golden farms is your place. they got it all. booze, wonderful produce, huge butcher area. good hot deli, and cheap too. i got lunch there for like a six bucks. they will make kebabs and lulah for you while you shop. there is a lot of stuff in there I have no clue how it is eaten, but most of it is common. lots of great candies. an aisle devoted to pita and lavash (flat bread). so many choices. these folk know how to eat and drink. excellent prices on all kinds of liquor, and almost any beer from the eastern block that you won't find anywhere else.

I like this place because the produce is fairly cheap and there's a good selection of 'ethnic' food stuffs. For all the other normal foods I'd recommend going to Trader Joes, Ralphs or one of those chain markets because the selection isn't as large. I've tried their hummus and yogurt from the deli and it's pretty damn good. Overall it's a good place to find stuff (food and household items) that you can't get at the major supermarkets.

BARGAIN, BARGAIN, BARGAIN! This is the place to go for the best prices in Glendale/Burbank. They have a great liquor collection and again, the prices are the best. Their vodka's are $4-6 less than Topline. They also have great produce and a particularly wonderful collection of fresh herbs. I just bought some flank steak that was only 3.29/ lb. It's in the 5's at Costco. They said it's USDA choice. I'm going to grill it up tonight, so we'll see if it compares. Anyway, definitely worth the trip.

Oh, I love love love this supermarket! Think of it as Super King's ugly little sister. I actually found Golden Farms while driving through Burbank looking for Super King on San Fernando. It's a great, inexpensive supermarket with a Middle Eastern slant.Number 1 - The Deli - Diverse, and cheap with yummy grape leaves, hummus and high quality turkey breast so much chaper than Ralph's.Number 2 - Produce - Literally, you will never want to go to a normal supermarket again. So fresh and so cheap! Plus they have all kinds of nuts and dried fruit mixes that are YUM!Number 3 - The Bakery - The most beautiful individual cakes and pastries for a DOLLAR each that you would be proud to serve at a wedding or party.Number 4 - Prepared foods - Omigod, yummy falafels and kebabs for 3 bucks! It seems too good to be true! For you Valley Dwellers who can't always make it to Super King, this is the next best thing. Go on a Sunday night when it's empty!

This is an adorable little Russian marketplace. It's not just food - they have a liquor store, a dry cleaners, a jewelry store, a clothing store, a barber... it was insane how much stuff there was. They had a lot of Russian food, but they also had regular groceries, like frozen entrees (I bought a Lean Cuisine). Tons of little old Russian ladies wandering around. I'll definitely come back here the next time I forget my lunch.

This place is the bomb! You've got to see it and experience it to fully comprehend it and appreciate it. My cousin's who still live in Burbank refer to this place as "one stop shop" You can buy a persian rug, a hookah, a tea kettle, pots and pans, a handbag, a new outfit, get something notarized and pick up groceries all in one place! What I like most about Golden Farms is their liquor selection. When I'm going to someone's house I don't like taking chocolate, pastries or flowers. I like to bring liquor! My staples depending on whose house I'm going to are beer for the low maintenance homies, Johnnie Walker for the more mature/sophisticated homies and Armenian stuff if I'm really trying to make a statement. If the recipients are of a much older generation I stick to Armenian Brandy, but if they're young I go with a brand of alcohol I discovered in Armenia called Daban. They make different flavors of "Oghi" it's the Armenian version of "Raki". Daban features various flavors of "Oghi" like mulberry, blackberry, wild pear and my favorite APRICOT! Since I live 45 minutes way from Golden farms unfortunately I don't do my grocery shopping here, but I do tend to pop in for an item or two if I'm in the area. I love this place!

The Russian cheese and the Armenian breads are great. Does not get 5 stars as it does not seem so clean... However, there are lots of really interesting and tasty foods here.

I know.. I'm a downer. But... sorry, it may have been just a bad day, but the vegetables were pretty darn picked over, and what was left was in pretty bad shape. It may have been due to a busy day before, but I was underwhelmed. Yes, it's a big place. Awesome if you need.. bulk nuts, bulk basmati, lentils, and a few other things. - good selection of middle eastern groceries- moderate selection of indian spices (Rani, Patak)- large selection of fish, although can not vouch for freshness/quality$5 minimum on credit or debit purchases$50 maximum on personal checksNice big parking spaces!

Golden they are! This super market makes me hate every shopping trip I'm forced to make to Von's just because it's close by. The produce is ridiculously cheap. I always have a field day picking up this, that and everything in between. Every time i get a chance to shop here, I'm left satisfied with my full shopping cart AND my full wallet. Great deals in fresh meat, produce, and dairy. Good deals in the center aisles as well, but they don't carry all the different brands that your standard super market would. Love it!

Came here last night with the hubby to get some fresh fruits. The fruit selection was good and cheap. Walking around the place we felt like we were actually in the middle east and it was cool. I feel like I am on that travel show "Lonely Planet". My husband did point out some spider webs that were all across some jars of tomato sauce. I thought at first it was Halloween decoration because it was so thick and fake looking. My husband then pointed directly to the spiders that were crawling on top of top of the jars. Yikes!! At any rate, they do have cheap dried fruits and fresh nuts. There is a section were you can get nuts by the bulk and a sign is clearly written " no taste testing" we did see these two ladies continually eat from the bulk nuts. We got some South American wine for $2.99 and some fresh pita bread for .95 cents.. so that was cool and some really good grapes and russian candies. It is ok to shop here but beware of certain items. I highly recommend it for cheap veggies and fruits.Graze at your own risk!
